The Booking System

We have today started the launch of our new website and booking system, and kinrosscurling.co.uk will now take you to the new website. This page is a work in progress, and I will add information to it as I get chance.

At the moment you will be able to view our website and, probably most importantly, the ice diary. You cannot make any bookings yet, or log into a user account. These are disabled until we can get the payment mechanism in place, but we hope this will only be a few days. We will keep you up to date.

How do I Book?

All bookings are made from one of our booking controls. There are separate Ice, Class and Event booking controls that are found around the website on pages where the information you need is next to the booking control. There is also a combined booking control on the Book page.

If you know what you want to book and any pre-conditions for booking, then you can head straight for the Book page (orange button at the top right of the screen). If you need more information then find the relevant page where all the details will be provided, and book from there.

You can make a booking from the website or from an account and the only information we need from you is your name, email and mobile number, and you will be able to pay with a card. You do not need to create an account if you do not want to, unless you wish to buy a practice pass, as these will only be held in an account. If you make regular bookings though, an account will make it easier as it will enter your data for you each time and you can see any current and past bookings. For your security. we do not store your card details, so they will need to be entered every time.

What Can I Book?

Practice is booked in 30 minute slots from the Ice Button in the booking control.

Practice passes are bought and held in customer accounts, ands are automatically allocated to practice bookings when you make them.

Sheet of Ice

If you would like to make a standard booking for a full sheet of ice for 2 hours, you can do this from the Ice button in the booking control, selecting Full Sheet in the activity drop down.

Classes

Try Curling, Beginner sessions, improver classes and any other classes that are open to the public can be booked from the Class button in the booking control.

Each class has a maximum number of participants, and the system will not allow it to be overbooked. When it is full it will no longer appear for booking.

Events

Events cover bookings where multiple sheets are grouped together. These.could be bonspiels or competitions where entry is for a team, or a multi-sheet session where people book in individually. As with classes there will be a maximum number of teams or participants.

Events are booked from the Event button in the booking control.

How do I get an Account?

Customer accounts must be created by an administrator. Our previous system allowed anyone to create an account, but this resulted in many false accounts being created by bots. Therefore you are not able to create an account yourself.

If you are a club who has booked with us for the coming season, or an individual who is the contact for a team in one of our leagues, or a coach, then we have already created your account. Otherwise, please email office@kinrosscurling.co.uk giving the following information:

For a club or an organisation: Club / organisation name, email address, contact name, mobile number
For an individual: Name, email address, mobile number.

Once the account is created you will be informed by email. You can request an account now, although you will not be able to login until we open the system up.

How do I Log In

To login for the first time, click the Login button in the top right of the screen, and then select the Register link at the bottom of the page. Enter your email address and you will be sent a validation code. Put this in and you will be asked to choose a password. Once you have done this your account is ready to use.

Next time you can simply login with your email address and password.

Clubs have one account with a primary email address and contact and mobile number. The primary contact is usually the secretary or match secretary, but there is also a contact area where you can list the other primary contacts for the club. It is fine to share the login details with other office bearers such as the treasurer as needed.
